Welcome to the Arizona Historical Society

To commemorate Arizona’s Centennial, the Arizona Historical Society has partnered with Arizona Centennial Quilt Project, a program of Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame, to create a quilt exhibit that will give voice to Arizona’s quilters while educating the public about Arizona’s artisans and their contributions to the state’s rich body of arts and crafts. The project will document the art of quilt making and provide historical context to future generations. The exhibition will be hosted by the Arizona History Museum in Tucson and will also be available throughout the state as a virtual exhibit during the year 2012.

Arizonans from across the state will create quilts relating to Arizona’s historical or natural heritage. The resulting products will not only provide a snapshot of what artists think is important in Arizona 2012, but will also provide a kaleidoscope of artistic and creative abilities found in rural, urban, and reservation areas.
