The Arizona Historical Society Education and Outreach Division designs and produces cutting edge textbooks, educational programs, professional development workshops, and demonstrations for students, teachers, and the general public. Not all programs are available at all Historical Society locations.

Traveling Trunks

History to Go suitcases:
Arizona History Museum (Tucson)

The Trunk program brings the Arizona Historical Society to your classroom. Docents present one-hour, interactive programs that explore artifacts kits. Presentations are available to grades K-12, and to adult groups.

All trunks adhere to the Arizona State Social Studies Standards. Presentations are limited to a maximum of one hour for up to 30 individuals.

Traveling Trunk Rentals


 

 


Locations available for this program:
AHS Museum at Papago Park (Tempe)

Pick up a trunk and present to your class real-life stories of Arizona residents from 1880-1920. Each trunk is filled with lesson plans, costumes, toys, games, photographs, and children’s stories

Cost: $75 per week ($25 refundable upon return). Teachers must arrange for pickup and delivery. Trunk topics include:

Locations available for this program:
Although this program is based in Tempe, many of the historians will travel to other parts of the state.

Living historians tell stories of how they lived, what they saw, how they felt, and who they encountered. They bring Arizona history to life.
